I was packing up all of my room today, and found a note I meant to give to my friend David Thimmesch the morning I left for Ripon. My next intention was to send it to him, but you know me. Haha. But anyways, I read it and thought it fitting since I wrote it the night before I left for college to post it the night before I leave for home. Here goes:
Well Sir: this is it.
We're off.
Do you think we, at 13 and 14, were even able to conceive the idea of us going to college?! There we were, braces on, frizzy-haired, our bodies going through awkward phases, hanging at my house and in the river. Our concept of four years later was forever; our hours spent seemed to be paid with happy thoughts of time. The idea of any of us leaving was preposterous.
Now our braces are off, my hair is quite frizzy, and our bodies are still going through awkward phases. We've hung at my house, but not in the river. Our concepts of time is still the same. Nearly, at least. I still am having troubles thinking about tomorrow--it doesn't feel real. It feels like I'll be re-doing all of this week (sneaking out, partying, hanging out, shopping...) next week with my same friends. That's...scary.
'Cause I'm not. You know? So queer. I honestly don't think I can gain more friends like you or Emma or Erin or Emily or Alie or Kevin or Tyler or Jane or Julie or Mary or Nikki. Zach.
YET HERE WE ARE. All of us--leaving! How? How did this happen when our concept of forever is so believed in? How did we go on everyday pushing ourselves on? The "oh, I can't wait until Saturday"s and "Christmas--come faster!"s add up...what is so desireable about tomorrow?
"Tomorrow is another day."
Yet, how come we cling to the past like we hold onto our souls....I suppose it's what makes us who we are, what we are, and why we do what we do today. Determines our tomorrow. We all need to go on.
I'm not saying I want to leave or that I have to leave or I need to leave...well all of us really...I'm saying that we all do need change. This is just so big. So big.
I gotta get out of this philosophical funk.
Messin' with my mind.
....
Listen--have an amazing first couple months of college. Visit me, I'll visit you, and we'll see each other at Thanksgiving and Christmas. ONE WHOLE MONTH. Even though people keep telling me this...I'm having a hard time taking it in...it is true, however:
Everything will be okay.
....
I love you. Thank you so much for everything.

one week
one week one week one week one week one weekoneweekoneweekoneweeeekk........
so EXCITED. But I'm in total disbelief--how did this happen!? It went so fast.
It's gorgeous out right now--so the stormy forecast was wrong. Sweet. However it is in no way conducive to work/study habits...
Ciao for now

It's a Blustery Day!
I think about 90% of the population (the population here meaning my friends and peers) only knows the word 'blustery' because of Winnie the Pooh. So thank you, Winnie!
Boy, though, it is just incredibly windy out! My newly cut hair just flies and flops all over the place!!
AND SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER!!!! OH MY GOD. It's way crazy, actually. Scary. I remember move in day so vividly it's like it was just days ago! And here I am, almost 1/4 done with college!
I hosted a girl over night last night named Caroline. She's from Virginia and is a Packer fan. Because of the latter, she must come to Wisconsin. :) No, but really. She was really sweet and fun to be with. It'd be awesome if she came!
Well, I do believe a nap is deserved. Goodnight for now!
Cook out later in the Quads, I'm pumped.

HEY YOU GUYS! --picture the goonys
Allo everybody! (and by everybody I mean like...not many people probably! hi mom!)
WHAT A HECTIC TIME. And I thought the beginning of the year was tough. I'm sorry I haven't been blogging in a while, but between classes and homework and running and working and meeting with professors and writing...did I mention sleep? what about food? Friends? What? Ha, it's not that bad, but it gets kinda crazy now and then.
ANYHOO. Campus is dreary. Grey and rainy and cold. The only hopeful part about the day is that there is green grass everywhere! It is the only color I have seen lately, just shades of grey, brown, and a cheery green. Slightly uplifting. And the only indicator that summer just MIGHT be around the corner.
Well, I'm off to hand an application it, tata for now!

I HAVE NO GERMAN CLASS ON FRIDAY!!!!!!
Best news of the day. It means I can get to sleep faster. SCORE. But I do have to work from 3-4. . . .
hmmmmmmmm.
oh well. NAP.
Coming back to school after spring break is the hardest. You go home for a teeny bit, get severly teased about the quiet lazy home life. . . then SMACK. Back here.
I'm a tad stressed.
Happier news, the sun is out.

Hoppy belated Easter!
Mmmm Easter...I did not, however, get a Cadburry egg as suggested.
Fie on you, mother!
JUST KIDDING. I loved my Easter basket! Plus, Zach may get me one when we go grocery shopping this week ^_^ .
Well, just another manic Monday at school and at the office. Got a rude awakening from my alarm on my cell phone this morning around 6.30. Promptly shut that off.
Let us talk about this cell phone of mine. My Blackberry Pearl, or as the rest of the world (and I, albeit lovingly) calls it--a Crackberry. And I have reason to believe that my phone has indeed gone off the reservation and dipped into hard drugs. It seems pretty hooked, too. Basically, it won't let me do anything correctly. It sends texts to people when I'm not even done formulating words, or even the text! It proceeds to send TONS at a time as well; Robyn got about 30 texts from me yesterday--with no words! I try to put something into my calendar and it wont let me finish words or changing times. Consequently, I'm seeing "Profz Sp" tomorrow at 4.30, an hour later than it should be.
ARGH. It's just not working out. I may have to come home and claim a defective product or something. Get a new one. Poor baby.
Ciao all!

Gomez
I got an email with Summer Fest news, and it listed "Gomez" as one of the bands. And I kept thinking to myself--"...Gomez...I've heard of them before......where?!" I caved in and googled them. Found their myspace page:
http://www.myspace.com/gomez
It's the song "girlshapedlovedrug."
Mind you, its not a "girl shaped loved rug." "Girl shaped love drug" makes more sense, no?
Cute song, will definitely check them out at Summer Fest.
Can we tell yet that I'm thinking about summer at all, folks?
Hopefully Zach can come up for these there points in the summer, and potentially a fourth:
--mum's graduation
--cabin trip
--summer fest
erp!
I've been brainstorming for next year's blog. It won't be the "Froshie Diaries" anymore...I thought about writing a haiku a day? Something to do with music? Art?
Bleh!
I realize that this entry has a spewing quality about it ('erp' and 'bleh'....). Sorry. I am not about to be sick.
But I am about to be out the door--later all!
