...it's christmas time, in the city...

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh I am in such a good mood.

It may have been my coffee AND black tea (you would have thought when I told Robyn to pick me up a Tazo "awake" tea that it would have registered in my mind that it was not a green tea. . . ), but I am in a very uppity mood. It is wonderful. I finished my exams this morning--isn't that glorious?? I have nothing left to do!

Well, essentially. I have a pile of laundry that is waiting to be dried, and lots of garbage to clean up in my room, I should dust the surfaces, wash my sheets, make my bed, vacuum, put all of my books away. . .start packing. . .

but mostly I've been sleeping!

Tomorrow I'm going to be up and at'em however. I'm going to go to Starbucks and work on admissions stuff for a couple of hours, call Lyn, go into town and scope out prices for Christmas gifts. . .write a few cards. . .shop. . .oh yes, the daily meals too! I also will start a list for packing.

Just added a few things to my blackberry on a list! oh i love my cell phone.

Anyhoo, tonight is the "midnight breakfast" but it's really at 11. We get pancakes and waffles and everything. I'm excited, and maybe they won't be completely out of food!!! I've had so many carbs today, however. I finally did a meal exchange at Starbucks and got a coffee and a blueberry scone. I now know what my future breakfasts will consist of. I am so excited. Eep!

Before the breakfast tonight, however, I'm going to the senior apartments with Patrick to meet his PC (not sure what it stands for, but it's kind of like his mentor for first generation college students??). After that. . . another nap? Fold laundry? OH. Rob and I are visiting Missy. That'll be fun.

Anyhoos. I'm so excited to get home. I'm excited to sleep, to eat GOOD food, to watch movies, to see people!!! It's going to be a blast. Plus I have a goal in mind. I want to make use of all of my T-shirts I've accumulated over the high school years. I thought about doing this last year, but I'd like to make a quilt out of them. I don't know yet what I'll be putting on the back or whether I'll be stuffing it or what. . . but it should be fun. That way I get rid of all of my old T-shirts but get to reminisce about them in a way. Woot! I'm excited.

Well, I should get to working on these letters. Ciao!

I AM SO SORRY

hey!

I'm sorry!!

I really am!!!

I haven't written in so long, and I feel bad. Anyway.

Wow. Lot to catch up on.

Well, although my last entry states unhappiness, this one shall give off vibes of joy. CHRISTMAS IS NIGH. woot woot! I'm so excited. My art final is in, my FYS presentation went swimmingly, tomorrow I have to show my art professor my sketch book, turn in some FYS stuff. . . basically I am done. I have a few things here and there to do, but other than my Theatre project--I am golden!

Which partially explains why I am so happy. Another reason for my exuberance is that it snowed--it's so beautiful outside! Cold, but white and sparkly and wonderful. Another reason is that Forensics went pretty well this weekend (and we all got home safely). Another reason is that I'm so glad for all of my friends here at Ripon. They're all so diverse and interesting and friendly--I love it here. It is "home." My other reason for being so happy is because of Zach. He is so lovely and kind and funny and caring and ALL that good stuff. And I am so happy with him. ::radiates girliness::

ohhhhh me. Anyhoo. Just a few more days of classes, and then Friday!! Which is the Yule Ball, I think we're going to part of that. Tonight is Joyce to the World which'll be a blast. Pat and I are going to it to see the band (Robyn and Zach are playing) and then I think there are various things like cookies and ornament decorating, and President Joyce reads The Night Before Christmas to us. Everybody--collective 'awwww.' No I'm just kidding--it is actually quite sweet. I'm excited.

Well--NAP TIME

What a Monday

Oh man. Probably the worst Monday I've ever had.

I overslept through my alarm (verschlafen, I learned today in German) which just TOTALLY threw my day for a loop. I didn't get a shower in before classes, I was scrambling all over the place to get things together, I left things in my room, barely got a couple things printed out, spaced out. . . . . . . . .. . . . MAN. what a day. i finally got out of a decade long German class and got to SHOWER praise the gods. It's just been--ugh. I guess I couldn't fall asleep very well last night because I kept thinking about things, like "oh i'm going home in three days! i'm going to see everybody!" and "oh god, that huge project" and "i hope i didn't forget anything" and "i'm going to miss zach" and "my parents really need to see the movie 'love actually'". . . .all this irrelevant relevant stuff! Homework, classes, socia life, family, media, health issues!

I FEEL LIKE A PIN CUSHION FOR STRESS. HERE I AM, GUYS, STICK A PROBLEM IN ME. NAW, I WON'T MIND.

Yea, basically. I think my only high points of the day were my final paper in FYS was an 'A,' my silly/stressed/laughing/groaning hug with Robyn, and showering. Those were fantastic.

Hm. But yes. What a day. It picked up at dinner for awhile, as I got to see my friends. And have a waffle. That was tastey. Homework didn't lift the spirits. . . .

Tomorrow's a new day!

ONE WEEK

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm SO excited!!!! THANKSGIVING!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!

Yes. I really cannot believe it though, how fast it has arrived. Ah good old turkey day. I'm going to make an apple pie, as usual. Perhaps two so that I can bring one "home"--to Ripon. And then there's about two weeks of school! Wow. Cannot believe it.

Well the past couple of days have been alright. Not oodles amounts of sleep, but an okay number of hours. Not enough though. After tonight (last late night of the week!!!) I am going to bed EARLY Friday and Saturday. I don't care how lame that is! And I am sleeping most of Saturday. I will help Robyn get ready for formal if she needs anything before she goes over to Kris'. Other than that, I think she'll get everything done over there. She's going to Theta Chi's formal with a sophomore named Eugene. He's. . .alright. There's nothing going on, really, between them. Hrm.

I'm already thinking about Christmas. I have a HUGE list of things I'm getting for other people. I have ideas for Robyn, Patrick, the Grandmas, Kim and Kelly, Erin, Emily, Alie, Emma, ALL my girls (here and at home), but. . . not many for Zach or my parents. AH! I got a couple last night, but. . .hrm. Well--woot!

Gotta go!

It's only Tuesday?

GAH. GIVE ME FRIDAY, ALREADY!!!!

Well, for the first time in ages I went to the commons for breakfast. It was pretty good. I'm pretty full though. I had raisin cinnamon toast and raisin bran. . . RAISINS!!! Ahhaha, oh Clone High reference. . . MMmmm yeais. So Zach informed us that he got 12 hours of sleep last night. Plus a couple extra because he took a nap as well. . . ::radiates jealousy with pat and robyn:: RAWR. I'm pretty tired, but I got a decent amount. 11 to 7.46? Hm. As far as seizing the day here I'm failing. But--I will survive. ::nods:: OHHH boy.

Well I best be off for some homeworking. No class today!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

ON FIRE!!

YEA REDHAWKS!

We won our home meet! The swim team took first on Friday night--it was SO cool! I went to it and of course, as I knew I would, ended up really missing swim. I missed the cheers, I missed screaming at the end of the lane, I missed that nervous sinking feeling on the block. . . ::sigh:: ANyhoo, it was Rob's first swim meet EVER and it was really exciting, even though it was a distance meet (the mile! JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZUS). Anyhoo, Zach's mum and grandparents took us out to the Roadhouse afterwards and that was taaaaaaaasty. Those cheese curds are DELICIOUS. Saturday I slept in a bit, and then Robyn and I had lunch with Patrick and Zach. We then drove to Milwaukee.

After much chaos, we got seats to see the closing night of The Nerd at my high school. My sister was in it and so were a bunch of my friends from high school--it was hilarious. Loved the show.

My friend Julie was there as well, and I really really wanted to hang out with her. . . but things didn't work out! We were in Milwaukee not just for me but also for Robyn. After the show Liz dropped us off at my house and we grabbed the car to go down town to meet Robyn's high school chum Cameron. We ended up seeing the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Oriental theatre--SO MUCH FUN! OH MY GOD. I've seen the movie, and last year we did our own version of it at my high school's theatre Halloween party--but this was great. WONDERFUL fun. I'm so going again.

Anyway, we got out REALLY late. We had to walk back to UWM's campus around 2, 2.30 in the morning because the buses stop running at 2. Drove back to Tosa and we then went to Johnny V's. Probably got home around 3.30, 4. Surprisingly, I was up and perky around 9.30 in the morning. Had coffee, chatted away with my mum and dad. Got a fire going in the living room. The sleepy heads FINALLY got up and we went to about an hour and a half of the football game at my aunt and uncle's house. They finally finished their renovations to the basement--it's gorgeous.

GO, PACK, GO!!! I LOVE THE PACKERS SO MUCH. 34-0 over the evil VIKINGS?! LOOOVE IT. It was grand.

I was glad to get back to Ripon, however. We all had a bunch of homework to do. Zach and I went to part of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra concert in the gym in Storzer. It was absolutely beautiful. I haven't listened to orchestra music in quite awhile--and this was stunning. AND free--thank you perks of being a Ripon College student--YESSSSSsssss.

Today's been relatively normal. I did get out of FYS early, however, which was preferable. We brainstormed about our topics for our final project with our groups. I don't want to carry the whole group. . .but I think I'm going to end up doing that. . . ::grumble:: Tonight--buckle down and work hard on more papers! Woot woot!

Well, I'm gonna head off. No class tomorrow! Carpe diem! Seize the carp!

IT'S COLD

So it's really 36 degrees out. . . but it FEELS like 26 degrees out. What?!

Also, it was supposed to have snowed. I was looking forward to waking up and seeing snow on the ground. ::sigh:: That would have been sweet and pretty. Hrm. Ah well. Makes my commutes less wet. Well I'm enjoying some 'all natural no artificial anything' dannon strawberry yogurt and some granola bites. And coffee. For the first time in ages. Tasty. OOh it's door county coffee too.

Last night I headed to Rodman around 8.30 to work on my art assignments that I need to catch up on. I'm nearly done with those goshdarn (haha) skeletons. I stayed there pretty late, and Zach came down with me to work on some music theory stuff in the library. Robyn was there also for crew. Rodman, late at night, is really really odd. I was drawing the skeleton (Lucy, Marcy? I can't remember, Prof. Salas had a name for her/him) and just randomly people would walk into the art room, drop something off, and leave. . . or walk in the halls. . . it was quite strange. Creepy! I was glad Zach was keeping me company. The walk from Rodman back to the main campus is brutal--that stretch by the cemetery and upper and lower Sadoff is SO COLD because there is no protection from the wind--brrrr!!

Today I'll have art. . . and after that--I think I'll buckle down and do homework!!! And run.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Terrace with Missy and Robyn. That'll be grand fun, haha. MMM subs.

Alright--time for me to go!

WINDY!

it is extraordinarily windy out. I almost got blown away several times today! It may be because I am so sleepy.

So Patrick and Zach crashed in our dorm last night, they were just over watching movies and stuff. But they have 5 a.m. swim practices every Monday. So we set the alarms for 4.43 (I always have a three element in my wake up times, 6.03 is my usual!!!). It goes off in what seems like only half an hour of sleep (funny how time works) and I motivate myself. I actually get out of bed. I decide--I'm in a 'go get'm' mood--time to kick butt! So I wake myself up and brush my teeth, wash my face, put my contacts in. . . realize that my hair looks like a falcon's nest, decide that I don't care. . . get my sneakers on grab the iPod and I go outside.

It's. Freezing. Basically.

Motivation to run? Yes. So I listen to the scissor sisters and run for awhile, get back to the dorm area, and lie down on the grass. I'm in a T-shirt at this point. I realize that I haven't run in far too long and that needs to change--it's more than a body and health thing, it's actually a spiritual thing. I love running--it's kind of a brain rest for me. And resting my brain is an exercise in itself. sigh. I'm never going to stop thinking. Anyhoo. I look up at the sky and it's still all starry out and it could easily be 11 o'clock at night. Orion was out still. I get back into my room and it's 5.33.

"Sweet!" i say, and decide this is an opportune moment to take a shower in the nice shower before somebody else snatches it. After that AND drying my HUGE hair, it's still only 6.15. Rock on!

I decide, however, that it would be rude to turn on the lights while everybody is still sleeping. So I postpone my homeworking endeavours. And I go back to bed. For about an hour. Needless to say, I'm a tad sleepy. Ah well.

SO. This weekend! Robyn and I got incredibly bored and then INSPIRED to reorganize our room! IT'S SO EXCITING. We changed everything around and it's all cozier now and lovely. We're looking for futons now and a coffee table--and the room should be relatively complete. A rug, maybe, and then a TV after Xmas break.

. . . i wonder how we're splitting this all up. . . hrmmm. . . i suppose we'll have to talk about that eventually. . .

speaking of money. . .GAH. i should log some hours in. sorry writing to myself at this point.

Sunday was nice because Zach and Patrick made me and Robyn scones, which were delicious. then we had "elevenses" and went to the commons for omelets. scrumptious. thank you, Larry. (Larry's the cook here). Then that afternoon Patrick and I went to go see the band perform (rob and Zach did splendidly).
hm. more news? well Sunday night Robyn and i attended the first round parties for the sororities on campus. it was great fun and we had more fun at others, but i won't say anything too much here. this Friday is the boys and girls swim team's first home meet, so that will be fun to go to. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to Milwaukee to see my high school's production of "The Nerd," and then Sunday at 7 or 8 the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is performing in the gym. eee! So much to do!

Speaking of plays, Much Ado went really well this week. We had full houses every night and people over flowing to come see it. I love how supportive the community at Ripon is--they're always here!

Nap time!

Juules

"remember, remember, the fifth of november. . . "

such a great movie--"V for Vendetta"

ALL of you--Mum, Dad, Grandma, Kim and Kelly, and any other readers--should see this movie.

It is such a wonderful film. . . ::Sigh:: I'll go into details later at work, however. I must do some homework!

one. . . two. . . three---

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

phew.

the play opens tomorrow! i'm going to be in costumes for awhile! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. i think i'll wash my travel mugs and give one to Robyn to use. or bring a bunch of tea packets. or something. hm.

plus I am not feeling the greatest. Zac Mans told me [with all the sweetness in the world, however] that I look like a zombie. I think that I kind of feel like one. I of course have no desire to go out eating people's brains or anything like that. . . but yea. A zombie!

Well let us see. I keep checking my mail compulsively seeing if my package has arrived yet! I'm supposed to get some pants in the mail from my parents. . . not here yet! And I just heard from my mum and dad that another package is on its way--EXCITING. What was really fun last week was that I got a package in the mail from my aunt and my uncle that was filled with candy--woot woot! Plus there were a few cute drawings my little cousins did of Halloween things that I put up on my door with the suggestion that I "tape them up about eye level of a 5 year old, so that way they're more authentic." Hahaha.

Robyn and I also put up a bunch of Christmas lights up, but they're more like Halloween lights because on my side they're orange and on her side they're purple/black light lights. Our room now has a nice haunted glow to it. We're going to somehow get a pumpkin carved I believe, maybe later tonight. That'd be great. And buy some of those electric tea lights--those are so cool! Although I really wish I could burn candles in my room, just because I like the aesthetic of it all.

Hm.

Well, I am off to lunch-land because I am starving. Happy readings!

Pretty Good Monday

Hm. For being a Monday, it's been a pretty good one. Which is surprising!

THE PLAY OPENS ON WEDNESDAY! How did that happen?! How is it almost Halloween?! How is November only a few days away?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH.

Time is just. . . a mind boggling concept.

Yesterday when Robyn got out of tech we got into her car and attempted to drive to Target. When we saw that we were 19 miles from Appleton. . . we knew that we had gone a bit too far! So we turned around, got off an exit that looked like Oshkosh, and stopped in a ShopCo to ask for directions.

Me: "Hey, my friend and I got off the wrong exit we think and we're looking for the Target. . .?"
Costumer Service 'blondie' : "Uhhmmm. . . you drive down the parking lot and take a left."
Me: "Oh! Thanks!" ::sheepish::

aaahaha that was great. So we eventually got to Target and we found black clothes for tech. I'm not positive if I'm working the show yet, but if I'm not, then i have a black long sleeve shirt, some black socks, and just for fun we both bought fishnets. I got us some Starbucks (yeaaa gift card! and mmm cider) and then we went grocery shopping. I finally have room food. YES. Apples, yoghurt for breakfast, granola bars, and bread. Mmmm. Then we got slightly lost again. Eventually we got home. Phew!

::sigh:: I love dance parties. This weekend the festivities for Halloween took place--Patrick was a fairy, Zach was a pirate, and Robyn and i were normal because we didn't have costumes. Well I wore a jean skirt--i never wear skirts. . . !! It was very fun.

This week will be interesting! BRING IT ON!

I am "home" !

And so glad, too!

While it was a Monday, it didn't feel so bad! I met with my academic advisor, Prof. Lowry. He teaches Latin, Greek. . .and thinks I should take Latin. . .anyway. We figured out what I was going to take next semester, but ended up just talking for nearly an hour. It was actually really fun. He was really engaging and nice [in the beginning of the semester he must have been frazzled or something]. SO HERE'S MY NEXT SEMESTER!!

Monday:
9.05-9.55 Philosophy (120)
11.15-12.25 English (110)
1.05-2.15 German (315)
6.30-9.30 Computer Assisted Art (253)
Tuesday:
8.00-9.55 Print Making (400)
Wednesday:
9.05-9.55 Philosophy
11.15-12.25 English
1.05-2.15 German
Thursday:
9.05-9.55 Philosophy
10.10-12.05 Print Making
Friday:
9.05-9.55 Philosophy
11.15-12.25 English
1.05-2.15 German

So. Tuesdays, while they are the earliest start. . .will probably end up being my favorite day, haha. I'm excited but a little disappointed that my Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be virtually the same. Only Philosophy will be really fun, I believe. I know English is with Professor Brown! (She's my FYS Prof).

It is good to be back though. I really missed everybody. I missed Robyn and Patrick and Nick and Zac and Paul and Ashley and Candice and Cassy and Carissa and Sarah and SO many people. Aaaaaaaaaand Zach. ^_^

The first night back when Rob got here we all watched 'Transformers.' GOOD MOVIE. I thought, at least.

Shia LaBeouf is a cutie, so that of course was a bonus.

THE PLAY OPENS IN ONE WEEK. how!!?! WE'RE SO BEHIND IN COSTUMES!!!! I maybe should go sew tonight, actually. Hm. . . well, off to homework!

Going Green

Well, tea wise, at least.
Hah.

Contrary to popular belief, I have been consuming a nice amount of tea as of late, sort of transitioning from a coffee phase to a now tea phase. Green tea will be my weapon of choice--it is so incredibly good for you. WONDERFUL. There is also a black tea I enjoy called "Constant Comment." It's a black tea with orange rinds and other christmassy spices--mmm delicious. So yes.

It's fall break now, which ROCKS, but I am still here because of forensics. I'm going home tonight, though! SO EXCITED! This weekend we had meets in Eu Claire and at UW-Stout. I took 5th out of 7 POI contestants in those meets, and yesterday we went to the Twin Cities.
That drive sucked. We left Ripon at around 8.30, drove to the Twin Cities, got to the college, started rounds about an hour after getting there, got through awards, and drove back to Ripon and got home around 1.30 am. MAN. The drive would have been much more comfortable had the car not been so poorly designed. . . just cramped and uncomfy. Let's just say that I didn't sleep that well. The meet went rather smashing, however. Garrison, Luke, and I made it to our final rounds. Garrison took 2nd in Prose, and I took 3rd in POI! There were 8 contestants this time in POI, but still, it was really exciting! Garrison McMurtrey. He's got the most perfect name for a politician ever. He's a leftie. He's pretty cool.

What was hilarious about yesterday's meet was that so many people at the college kept asking us what we were dressed up for. I replied to a short, skinny guy, "Forensics," to which he exclaimed, "Oh!! Like those guys in CSI, right? Oh man..." It was hilarious. Next year JoAnn and are going to go all out, wear blue tooth headsets, have hardcore briefcases. "Yea, and the body's in here, wanna see?" haha

All the group traveling meant a lot of fast food, unfortunately. I feel pretty gross. Ripon is really REALLY weird right now too. There really aren't that many people here. Johnson feels like a set of a horror movie--quite unnerving when walking to the bathroom at night, haha. Robyn was "nice" to point out "so it's kind of like the hotel in 'The Shining?'"

thanks, dear. She did text me last night to say that she got scone mix for us to make when we get back into school! Yes!!!

I cannot wait until I get home tonight! I'm really pumped for the rest of this week. Thursday I think I'm meeting Lyn McCarthy for coffee [i'll have tea], and after that I'll go bother my high school teachers, stop into the swim practice, go the players meeting, go out for coffee again [this time i may have tea] with my tosa east buddies, and who knows what else? Friday is going to be SO COOL though. I'm going out shopping with my mum and getting a haircut! That's going to be so much fun. After all of that, I don't know. I know Frau Tuinistra was looking for an extra chaperon for the Spuk Haus trip, but if Liz and Ethan aren't going, then I'll be home that night...Saturday I'd like to see the girls at JV conference, and then I'm hanging out with Julie! Trip to Madison? ? ?

Hmmmm I have so much I want to do! !!

All in all, though, I am truly excited for school to start up again. I really miss everybody--OH sunday won't come fast enough!

Well I have much to do in the admissions office, so I will go now!
love!

In a Hotel Room. . .in. . .? ?

my dear readers
another post--YAY.

well i'm in my hotel room in some town.

Today was my first official meet of my college career!

I placed 5th out of 7 POI people, which is good I think--I got two! I got a metal too, which is awesome. ::shrug:: Very similar and very different than high school forensics. I had only two rounds, and the second round was a final round as well, but only because there were ONLY seven people doing POI. Normally I think you have two rounds and then they post finals. I sat in on a round of Prose, the final Prose round, and the final Extemp round. Very cool stuff, really interesting. Personally I think that I did pretty well. I haven't looked at any judge's comments (never got them) but first round I think did better than my second round, oddly enough.

After the meet we went to the restaurant connected to the hotel. It was delicious. But i am SO full.

I'm exhausted.

I can't wait to go home!!!!!!!!!

FINALLY

well it's been a long six days, hasn't it, fellow readers?

[i suppose you are my fellow readers because i read my own blog. . . don't ask. . .]

NEWS
Jeffery the Most Annoying (bill and ted's excellent adventure!) Fly is dead! So happy. I don't know where exactly he is dead. . . but he is gone at least. That is good.

Well, after an unusual weekend home (not the home part, the heat--it was summer all over again! >_<), yesterday the temperature plummeted to a comfortable 50. YES. i love fall so much. Just a wonderful season. I can wear jeans and sweat shirts and YESSSSS. Today for lunch I had a wrap and a hot caramel cider. Surprisingly this was only my 2nd purchase at the Starbucks! But I needed it. It was delicious and so comforting for today. Rather blustery, if I may say so.

My German quiz today went okay, but I've gotten two papers back this week that were 'A's!!! SO cool. Other than that, I have a lot of sketch booking to do tonight. And then bed.

Oh yea! Tonight Alpha Delta Pi is having a halloween card making thing in Johnson. It's for the Ronald McDonald house, which is really sweet. I'm gonna try to convince Rob to join me. I also have a rather large assignment for Theatre--more costume designing!! Man. For some reason it's impossible to find some certain styles on the internet. . .

I have my first few Forensics meets of my career this weekend and this Tuesday. OH MY GOD. How did it get here so fast? Why? HELP. I'm scared but excited. . . I. . . aaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Saw the Bears and the Packer game.

I hate the Bears. So much. We better kick some major Bear behind next time.

Alright. Well. I need to continue working, but I'll blog more often now. I proooommiise!

Fly

There has been a fly living in Rob and my room for the past week. It grosses me out to no end.

He zooms around the room, lands on your hand while you're on the computer, hits your foot when you're lying down, curiously flits to all of you food, and buzzes annoyingly.

And we have no fly swatter.

Or patience for his short life to end.

Damn.

We've named him Jeff. Hopefully Jeff dies or somehow leaves our room (he's so dumb, however. He thinks himself confined to the parameters of our small double. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX, JEFF! WE KNOW THAT YOU CAN DO IT! egad. One would think he'd see the open door and cry "freedom!"). We'll be gone this weekend--as long as he doesn't burrow into my food or something I'll be fine.

Speaking of being gone this weekend--I'M COMING HOME FOR HOMECOMING!!!

I am so excited. I really just can't wait. It's all I can really think about. YES. Tomorrow I'll be in the car around 2.45 and driving to Milwaukee. I'll hit up my high school, see the parade and the football game (really I just want to see the marching band!)--AND I GET TO SEE ALL OF MY FRIENDS! OH man. Later that evening Patrick, Zach, and Rob will be arriving in Milwaukee, hopefully around 8 or 9. They have to leave later because Patrick and Zach have swim until 6, and Rob is the one with the car. Woot!

I can't wait to tote them around my home-towns. GLEEEEEE!

Alright, well, lunch and a round of forensics is calling me. Gotta go!

PS oh and art. man i don't want to go to art. ::sigh::

A-nother Up-date

robyn doesn't always drive with her eyes closed, i promise
patrick being surprised!

me and zach. my glasses were upside down. and i am not ready for this picture...

HALLO readers!

I know it's been awhile since my last post. . . but things have been ueber busy as of late. And that's not so cool with me. Sleep has been sacrificed and freetime overshadowed by obligations.

sigh

oh responsibility. Somehow that plays into the college equation, I don't know where that's coming from. . .

haha just kidding.

WELL. Homecoming weekend was fun. Friday night Robyn, Patrick, Zach, and I went to Target out in Oshkosh. It was so much fun. I bought the most comfy sweat shirt ever, and then we went to Fazoli's for dinner. Which was fun. However, we got momentarily lost on our way back (ROBYN we blame you! mwahaha) and missed the comedian and fireworks. However, the night was well worth it and very very fun. I'll put up some pictures. Saturday I slept more than I wanted to. I mean, I wanted the sleep, but. . . I needed not that much? I just had so much to do. So we went to the first half of the football game in high spirits--we were doing pretty well. Robyn, Zach, and I went to Gooseberry's and I got some coffee. Forgot to get my card punched, however. Down the street then we went to the bookstore and got lost there for about an hour or so. I love bookstores.

Anyhoo. It was also Rob's birthday on saturday! When we were all at Target we snuck over to PickNSave and bought her an oreo cake. Patty Cakes picked it out with I'm sure much of his own interest at stake, but nevertheless we all found it to be quite delicious. We didn't so much celebrate the birthday saturday, but I know I need to get Rob something still. Maybe I'll find it in Milwaukee. . .

Hm, well it is nap time for me! I will post again sometime this week. Plus, I'll need to write about the crazy weekend in Mil-Town!

WARUM?

That means 'WHY?' in German.

And honestly, I do not know why I am asking why.

So. Today's thursday so far has been mostly uneventful. Went to theatre, and we watched more of 'Much Ado about Nothing,' and then back in our dorm Robyn and I contemplated how we could reorganize everything in it to fit a futon and a table for a tv. . . it can be done! The space is just so limited!

Tonight they're showing 'School of Rock' !!!! I'm so excited! It's a great movie, and it'll be fun to hang out with friends out on the lawn :-D . I think tomorrow we're going to Target then. We're going to get one of those flick 'vacuums' for our room, and Robyn needs a pair of jeans (one of hers ripped last night!). I will look at tops. Woot!

Now, as long as we can GET there, things will be well.

Well, off to work! Ciao for now,

Jules

Sun

It's beautiful outside. Sunny, bright, slight wind, just a perfect chill. GAH I love it. Dear weather please stay consitant for once!!!!

In other news, my eyes feel considerably better. Still gonna wear glasses for a bit so my eyes don't cause a mutiny out of my face, but for now, feeling better.

It seems the homework is just never ever ever ever ending, and that's nuts. Tonight I have to finish reading 'Much Ado About Nothing,' start my FYS paper, begin drawing multiple scaled images, and hopefully get a run in, a shower, Forensics, and oh--wait--sleep.

that too.

EGAD.

Ah well, final exams in 2.5 months.

WEIRD. That's really, when I look at how fast things have passed, not that far away!!!

eep!
ciao ciao

Red Eye

No, not the flight or the coffee drink. Literal red eyes.

For some reason last night, around nine thirty my right eye decides it would be a grand idea to turn nasty shade of red. But I leave it, thinking that it is just a contact problem. Well no. My other eye turns red, and is irratated.

This morning I look quite lovely, my red eyes insync with my mod-red glasses. . . >_< ARGH.
WHY today? Of all days. . . I have ART this afternoon--what!!!

And I honestly don't know what is wrong. If they're just irrated by something in my contacts or if something is actually wrong. Hrm. I guess if they're still this red this afternoon I could seek out a nurse or something.

I'll have to ask Katie Herald where that office is. . .

Well, homecoming week has begun! Last night it was the picnic night, so brats, hot dogs, burgers, and chili was served, along with lemonade and a helping of angry wasps. Those guys are so annoying. Dessert was amazing--I LOVE DIRTCAKE. Whoever thought to crush oreos and mix them with pudding or whatever sweet fluff the cookies are in. . . mmmmmm. Oreos just kinda go with everything.

Well, I must be off to continue my Tuesday endeavors. Until next time,

Jules

I love the Commons

Well I love it mostly. The food has not always been exactly 5-star quality, but every once and awhile something tasty comes through. . . okay more often than not. . .

what are all of these phrases called? They've gotta have a grouping. . .

Anyhoo, the Pickard Commons moved up about 20 bajillion pegs because they got a new coffee thing!!!! SO EXCITED. It is amazing. You can get espresso OR coffee, regular or decaf. (I do not even bother with decaf. It is not my friend). So basically I can get espresso add some hot water, make an Americano, add some of that lovely French Vanilla Cream (also new!) and VOILA I have achieved caffeine-perfection. MMmmm. Cozy.

Can you tell I had some at lunch this afternoon? heh.

Anyways, yesterday after dinner I was in the most contented state of mind. I was incredibly happy because I only had one class today, so knowing this, Thursday evening was spent in leisure. I wrote a letter to my friend Julie, I surfed the interweb, and [probably the best part of my evening] I ran with Adam. Now, I love running. But having a buddy to run with--that's the best. You have someone with you to keep you going, you can have conversation. It was great. I felt so much better afterwards.

A bit later last night Zach and Patrick came over, and we all went to the basement to play ping pong. Zach and I played Hand Pong (oh high school memories) and Patrick and Robyn did it the traditional way. Unfortunately the RA or whatnot on duty left for awhile when we wanted to turn the paddles back in, and she had Patrick's ID.

Finally she came back. But that waiting wasn't so cool.

Robyn accidentally slept through her Psych class today. She felt horrible. She had her alarm set for an hour later than it actually was, but she still didn't realize it until she had gotten to her class and none of her classmates were there. YOUCH. She'll be alright though.

So tonight's plan of events! I'm going to clean my room a bit, but then I have to go to an art show opening around 7. I think I'll walk down with Jose and maybe Sarah [more people I've gotten to know :) . Sarah's across the hall but we haven't really talked that much until I found her cell phone! And Jose is friends with Patrick and Zach]. Then I think we're going to watch either V for Vendetta or . . . can't remember the other title!

Jose, Patrick, Zach, Eric, Adam, Robyn, and Me.
Nice. Yea movie club.

Alright, off to work!

Oh Cozy

I am in jeans and a sweatshirt and I am drinking coffee. The leaves are changing colors. It is gorgeous. Autumn is my favorite season--coziness to the max. I hope we get to rake leaves later in October. That would be wunderschoeness fun.

Hrm. Well I had a test in Theatre 101 today. It was on characters and costumes and acting. . . it was alright. The essay we got to do before hand, which was nice. So Robyn and I got out of there relatively quickly and got back to our dorm at about 10.

Rob and I came home to find our friends conked out on the floor. . .we've been up since six. NOT COOL. I am extraordinarily jealous.

In the improvement world--I went to bed at 12.30 last night! WOOT. That's. . . quite a bit earlier than I usually go to bed!! So that was an accomplishment. Now if only I could eliminate my mild procrastination and do my dishes, I'd be golden. And maybe make my bed more often.

Sunday Robyn and I are planning to drag Patrick and Zach to Target and Goodwill. SHOPPING. Haha. Oh boys. It'll be fun. We also NEED to go grocery shopping. I'm have no milk so I've been taking my coffee black, which is alright for that first fresh cup. But once you get down to the older coffee at the end of the day it needs some sugar and cream. I share the same coffee philosophy with my Grandma Hinds. :-D

Speaking of, I have a letter for her I need to send. Which means I need envelopes. . .Which means I need to go grocery shopping. Oh what a circular world we live it.

::sigh:: Well I should get going and do some Forensics work. LOADS OF THAT TO DO.

Wed-nes-day

Today was a hard one.

Wednesdays usually are. What was different about today, however, was that I stopped in to see Professor Salas about my portfolio--it went reallly well!

He likes all of my works, and thinks I draw rather well. That was reassuring. I was glad to hear that, and it was a nice little boost before dinner. :-D

I also got to talk to THREE of my highschool friends today. That was wonderful. David Thimmesch (Knox--I got to tell him how we beat their football team! heheh), Kevin Scopoline (Madison), and Julie Shirey (Dominican). I talked the most to Julie, of course. Girl talk takes time, you know.

Well my homework decided that tonight it wants to be quite irratable--there is a lot of it and it is finicky. ::sigh:: I will write more later!

What a Wonderful World

Hm. I only wish Louis Armstrong was singing that song right now. I am in a quite basement and the only music is the hum of some machine. Meh! I'll blast my iPod later.

Well I'm excited for homecoming weekend! It isn't this weekend--but the NEXT. Oh that week will be so much fun!

This week and weekend, however, shall be also rather bueno. Tonight there's a Ramadan dinner hosted by the Cultural Diversity Club, which would be pretty cool to check out. Also, on Thursday there is an "Iron Chef" competition! I remember hearing about this, actually. I don't think I'll compete this time, but it'd be fun to look into. I wonder how you get to become a judge. . .

Otherwise, my weekend has been heavily unplanned. If we continue tradition we'll be watching some film either Friday or Saturday or both nights. :) Hm. . . We shall have to see.

My day is rather busy so I should get going. There's a ton to be done and ton that I want to do!

a witty title

whew I spared myself five minutes coming up with that title.
haha

Parents weekend went marvelously well. My mum and dad came up Saturday [not Friday] and met me at my room. I had just gotten back from helping to run the open house for all the highschoolers (mostly seniors, a few juniors) who are interested in Ripon College, and that actually was quite fun. I got to work with Zac with the lower half of the alphabet, woot! It was interesting to see these kids and know that I was there exactly a year ago. . .surreal. Anyhoo, they got to see my mostly clean dorm, took me out to lunch downtown (mmm Fat Bruce's) and then we went shopping. After a short nap I was ready for dinner! (oh god I ate sooooo much this weekend!).

Well, yet again, the niche of kids (Robyn, Patrick, Zach, and I) watched another movie this weekend, this time 'Shaun of the Dead.' LOVE that movie. Just hilarious.

OFF!

WOOOOHOOOOO

SOOOOOO it is friday! And I'm so excited.

I am going to go to bed very early tonight. One, I am exhausted, but Two, I need to get up early tomorrow to help with the open house. After that I get to hang out with my parents, and then go to the football game. We're playing Knox College! I think a couple of movies will do me in tonight. Shaun of the Dead, woot woot!!

Well the field trip for Theatre was really cool. The play, Cyrano, was well done and really funny, but also very tragic. The tour we got to go on was fantastic! I got to see the props and the costumes shops--eeh! How do I get there? It was also quite a weird trip for me. When we first arrived, the bus driver nearly crashed into The Village ("down town" Wauwatosa), so I saw all these familiar places for a brief period. . . Then the driver snaked us all over the place and eventually we got to downtown Milwaukee.

I think the weirdest thing was being stuck in a building in my city, only being able to look out at all the landmarks and buildings. . . .

I felt like I was in an inverted snow globe. . .

hm. Ohh well. In a few weekends Robyn, Patrick, Zach and I are headed to Milwaukee--WOOTWOOT. So excited. It's my high school's homecoming weekend, but they're gonna tag along with me--it's gonna be sweet.

yessss!

Well, the weekend awaits!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD morning

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh what a beautiful mooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrningggg
bah.

It is a blustery Tuesday.

::drinks coffee::

Well, this weekend is Parents Weekend! That means my mum and dad get to come up to Ripon and see how things are going. . . and bring me stuff!! :-D I already have a list generating. . .

No, but in all seriousness, I do want them to meet my new friends, and perhaps a few of my professors.

I also want them to see that my room hasn't exploded in the past month that I've been here--I ACTUALLY KEEP IT RELATIVELY CLEAN!) It's quite a feat.

So I know they all come in on Friday, and I think there's supposed to be a magician performing that night in the great hall, and Saturday is a football game. We're playing Knox College--one of my best friends goes there! The bets are on. . . Also, Theta Chi is having a huge game of Frisbee Golf, but I'm going to be off with my mum and dad looking for a suit for Forensics--a suit. Mensch.

I probably should post a few more pictures in here, perhaps of my mostly clean dorm, or of the campus. In a couple of weeks it's going to absolutely gorgeous here--Fall's on its way. I can't wait.

PACKERS WON THEIR FIRST GAME
woot woot! That is wunderbar.

Well, I am off for the day. I have to do a couple charcoal drawings before class, and maybe sneak in a nap. Until later,

Muddy Monday

Well. The temperature is desired. But it's raining raining raining.

And all I want to do is sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.
And drink hot cocoa.
And sleep some more.

As you may gather, my sleep patterns were not of the best quality Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. I watched too many movies, got sucked into too much internet, and slept in way too late. . .In German today we were supposed to write poems. I did one on Sleep. I'm desperate.

In other news, to make this Monday FANTABULAR--I did REALLY well on my FYS paper! The entire class period I thought that I was going to have to rewrite my paper because Professor Brown kept talking about it, etc...Then I got my paper--PHEW. And I did really well on my german quiz! Stress levels are waaay down.

Other than that, there's a field trip to the Milwaukee Rep on wednesday for the Theatre 101 class, which will ROCK. Very excited. For those who love theatre, take this course. Professor Hill is amazing. Today we had an acting workshop that was really really fun. We each got 'an objective,' meaning something we had to act out. Mine was to act like i needed to get waited on. Other people had to get food, make people pray, donate money, etc. But none of us knew what everyone wanted right off the bat. Got to be pretty funny. So we're all going up to each other, I'm screaming that I really need a menu and some water, Matt's begging for food, Leslie's telling us how wonderful she is. . .

Yes. Chaos. Wonderful.

Hm. Well I need to get off of here. My mind's pretty scattered, and I gotsta sleeeeeeeeeeeep

A Heated Week

PRAISE THE WEEK-DAY GODS IT'S FRIDAY!

ahhhhh marvelous. The weather, however, not so much. I looked at the weather forcast for next week and it says that it will be sunny and in the 60s! AH! Hopefully bipolar Wisconsin won't pull another mood swing and debunk the meteorologists' predictions. . . rawr.

Yesterday's field trip was SO COOL. We went to the Paine museum in Oshkosh, and the exhibit was so cool. Robyn and I were very jealous of all of the dresses there; they would be so fun to wear. Plus we both decided that we're getting married at that building.

Not to each other.

hah.

But the house and the gardens are really just that beautiful. I would need oodles of money. . . ::schemes::

After that we came back and hung out with Zach and Patrick, ate dinner, and worked on homework. The three left, however, later in the evening to watch a movie. I don't know if it was a combination of tiredness, my nerve-wracking german quiz, or what--but I was feeling incredibly down last night. The girly-girl part of me came through, and I listened to saaaad music and wrote angsty letters to my mum and was a general Emo kid. . . Yea.

I feel much better today though. I felt that my german quiz went really well, I'm gonna catch up on sleep this weekend, and a few phone calls from friends and my mum helped out. I think once I run after the Forensics outing tonight I'll feel fantabulous.

Yea--we're going to Barnes and Nobles to find books and plays and anything that'll help us find our future pieces. I really hope that I find something, I'm desperate.

I GOT OUT OF GERMAN EARLY TODAY. That was an upside major plus. Once you finished your quiz you could leave--that's some bueno-tastic cosmos right there. A-plus. I meandered back to my room and had a turkey sandwich. And threw away the really ripe bananas. We were gonna make banana bread, but we have no flour, sugar, eggs, or a baking pan. SHOPPING TRIP?

Well I'm going to head out. I need to do a few job-related activities, and then get back to my room where Gavin, Patrick, Zach, and Rob are all listening to loud music. And it's not a party with me, eh?

I Love Today

It is Thursday. Things I love about today:
--Due to a field trip this afternoon, I have no classes!
--Due to no classes, I got to sleep in!
--Due to sleeping in, I am incredibly refreshed compared to the rest of the week!
--Due to being incredibly refreshed, I'm feeling very optimistic

Yeaup. It is a gooooood day. Minus the slight caffeine-headache [for some reason I abstained from coffee all week. . . ]. This afternoon I'm going to check my mail, get my job form so that I will get paid for work [heh], and get lunch. After that--FIELD TRIP. It's going to be so exciting. We're going to a museum to see their exhibit on costumes. These were costumes used in film, so compared to theatre, they're beautifully detailed and just gorgeous. I can't wait to see them!

. . . sometimes it would be cool to be a costume designer. . .

'Twould be though! Anyhoo. It won't be all fun and games today, however. I need to study for a german quiz that we're getting tomorrow, as well as do my theatre reading, and run. >_< . I can't have Thursdays forever. I think there's a meeting for the photography club, Photogenesis, tonight as well!

Sorry about the rushed post yesterday, I really was so pressed for time. WEDNESDAYS ARE HORRIBLY BUSY BUSY BUSY. I did get everything done, however. Which was SUCH A WEIGHT OFF MY SHOULDERS. I got my paper in, turned in my german, and after everything I went back to my dorm and the sorority Alpha Chi Omega was hosting a rootbeer float social-thing. I had two Orange-Soda icecream concoctions [yay dinner!] and played probably the hugest game of Apples to Apples ever. I then went to bed at 7.30, woke up at 10, stayed up til 12, and went to bed again. Glorious!

Well the movie night is still on for Saturday, but rockin'-- Robyn-- Rob will be home for her brother's birthday ::tear::. Just me and the guys. . . I hope they can handle me probably crying during the movie. HAH.

Alright, well on to round two of coffee and more letter-drafting! DING.

Jules

the words Sleep and Time are quite foreign to me...

oh my god oh my god oh my god.
i've been going since 6 a.m. Woke up, worked on paper, got dressed, had breakfast, worked on paper, went to theatre 101, worked on paper, went to FYS, had lunch, went to German, went to work....EGAD!

In about 4 minutes I'll be leaving to go to West Hall in room...210? There's a required thing for German there, a Kaffee Stunde. . . Then immediately after I'm going to Forensics until 6. At 6 they're serving rootbeer floats in our dorm, which I will definitely get.

all of this and no coffee yet today. . .

And after that I AM GOING TO BED.

I can hardly wait. 2.5 hours. Here we go.

Multiple Alarms Are A Good Idea

Set your normal alarm. Then also set your cell phone. Then make sure your roomate's alarm is around your set wakeup time. And to be safe, have her cell phone set as well. If you own a rooster, bring him along. I don't think there were rules about caged birds in the dorms. . .
Also, for your ensured wake-up capabilities:
1) Do NOT do NOT hit the snooze button unless you have stout intentions to actually wake up 5, 7, or 10 minutes later.
2) If snooze has been hit repeated times, RESET YOUR ALARM.
3) Let your roomate know of important times, engagements, and classes your next morning. He or She will gladly give you a reminder. Unless her situation is parallel to yours in the alarm-hullabaloo. Then you both suck.
4) Go to bed earlier.

If this is not done, you end up hitting snooze about 16 times, ultimately falling asleep after the last poke of your alarm clock, only to miraculously wake up to look at your cell phone (which did not beep sufficiently for you to hear) and see that you have ten minutes to get to work.

And I made it--but just barely.

So power-bar in belly, coffee in hand, I am ready to take on the world! ahahaha . . . well sort of. At least I'll start out with this blog. After this I get to go back to my dorm, work on my art assignment (still life of three objects, it's supposed to be a masterpiece. . .), eat another power-bar because time is not on my side today[mum--I might need another stash of them when you and dad come up], get back from art and work on my paper, go to costumes from 7-10, continue my paper, and SLEEP.

I will get through today knowing that Wednesday is worse.

Well yesterday Robyn, Zach, Patrick, and I nearly figured out our weekend. Saturday night--we are watching Forest Gump. They have decided my unfamiliarity with this film is a sin which must be corrected. And I don't know what I'm doing Friday--I know I go to Barnes and Nobles with the Forensics team, but I also have to attend an art show opening. . . I believe I've double-booked myself!!

Until tomorrow!

a hectic, time-crazed Jules

Monday, September 3, 2007

Well, it WAS another Manic Monday

Oh boy. All three of my academic classes today. . . I'm wiped out. I think it's mostly because of my lack of sleep. And according to the rest of my week, my daily naps will have to be avoided ::tear:: . . .

Ah well, you gotta sacrifice something for schoolwork! :/

So the weather here lately has been beautiful and nearly makes up for the very horrible first week we had here. It was rainy and humid for about a week and a half. Now it is sunny and dry and wooooooooonderful. This air-conditioned basement, however, doesn't help at the moment; there are windows to my left displaying the gorgeousness that is the weather today that I am not in. ::sigh::

Again, sacrifices. . .

Today I had my first lecture, or what I consider to be a lecture. In my FYS (love and eros in the fine and performing arts) class we had a 'cluster' meeting (meaning we meet up with all of the other classes in our genre) and had a lecture about Aristocratic Love versus Peasant Love, and the transition of Warriors to Knights. . . It was actually pretty interesting. I didn't fall asleep and I took notes. Even though that room is in competition with Antarctica--FREEZING.

Well I can't take being cooped up any longer. I'm gonna head outside. Get a little sun in before Wisconsin turns into a popsicle, eh?

Jules

Sunday, September 2, 2007

I wish Sundays were as tasty as their homophone counterpart, Sundaes

yea...It is so unfortunate that tomorrow is Monday.

::tear::
If only we didn't have classes like every other college in the whole world...ah well. We get an entire week off in October, so nya! to all of 'em.

Still.

Well Friday night Robyn, Zach, Patrick, and I rented two movies--"Pans Labyrinth" and "Amadeus." We watched the first one in Scott Hall on the their HD TV...nice stuff. Good movie, very dark though. Then Saturday, like a good and responsible student, I did some homework and cleaned my room.

I also went to part of the football game! My first Ripon College football experience! Haha, I was around long enough to see us make our only touchdown. But--that was marvelous. We did lose by quite a lot, however...

Today I continued to work on homework, did my laundry (egad those dryers need to be tuned up or something...), and hung out with Rob/Zach/Patty-Cakes some more. We do need to establish a rule of no YouTube during homework time....we get virtually nothing done!

Ah well--to the insomniacs out there, I salute you. Here's to a long year of twilight studies!

TGIF

I will say again how fond I am of Fridays. FOND FOND FOND.

Today I had Introduction to Theatre, my FYS class (Love and Eros in the Fine and Performing Arts), about 25 minutes for lunch, and German. My German class keeps shrinking. I think we're at about 8 people?? Other than that, my other courses are pretty normal sized. My drawing class has about 20 people in it, Theatre is a bit bigger, and understandably the FYS class is larger. (FYS=First Year Studies). Everything's just right.

I think tonight I'm going to hang out with Robyn, Patrick, and Zach. We're thinking about seeing the movie Shaun of the Dead. One of the best movies ever. Rob really needs to see it.

Tomorrow is the first football game of the season! Ripon versus Oshkosh--should be good. Who knows??

OH! I'm on the list for the costume crew! I'm so excited. We meet every Tuesday from 7-10 (yeesh!) but that should be pretty bueno--yes!

Alright well it's nap time, until later

The Studious, the Slacker, and the Hopeless

Fortunately there aren't any Hopeless students (that I know of), but there are quite a few slackers. Exhibit A, the man in the black shirt. Writing a paper? Researching on the internet? One would hope, but the reality in the situation is--Zach's on youtube. Robyn, my wonderful and hilarious roomate, is reading her Latin book, and Eric...? Perhaps I caught him mid metaphysical thought...hah. No, but other than Zach's study break, we did get a bunch of work done, plus--it's Friday!!!

A Week In

Well I never thought I'd be a Freshman again! I think entering high school I had this weird notion that I'd just stop growing up somewhere around sophomore or junior year. But here I am, a graduated high school-er, summer gone, at COLLEGE. It's pretty overwhelming.

Time is such a weird concept. It's also been a bit hard to manage lately. So far everything has been quite a whirlwind of events-- new people, classes, activities, forensics, theatre, running, more new people, food, laundry...oh. And sleep. Although that's been quite limited. My fault though. I know I'll get into the swing of things, however.

I'm so grateful though, in all of this stress, that everybody here is so nice. I already have a niche of friends, which is so wonderful. It's good to have a few people that I can go to. Need to get to know the rest of my floor though...ah well. For now, I'll host people in my dorm room for tea. Any takers?
