WOOT WOOT!
Well that excitement is over. Right now I'm in the basement of the Admissions office, freezing. But I have hot chocolate and some really zany popcorn (it's yellow...and orange...and pink...and blue?) but it tastes great. Yay candy corn!
It's awfully cold outside. Yesterday it went from a nice 35, 40 degrees to about below zero with a wind chill of negative 35. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! It was awful. Not to mention the rain-to-hail-to-snow and wind factor. Ugh. So winter is here to stay. At least until March. February will breeze by though. Then one week in March and then SPRING BREAK!!!
Can't believe I'm already excited about that. But I am! It'll be phenomenal. Go to St. Louis, experience some slightly warmer weather, hang out with Zach. . .woot! Anything 30 and above gets me excited. It means it's above zero. Or I may just be experiencing the winter blues. . .
Classes went fine today, lunch was good, breakfast was good, hopefully dinner will follow the trend. OH and I have Forensics tonight. . . . gack. Ah well.
I'm off!

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Julia!
Haha.
It is absolutely gorgeous outside. It is in the 40s and sunny and I love it.
Only some dreadful news has lowered my spirit just a tad. It's going to be 12 degrees tomorrow and sleeting rain. JOYOUS!! Why does the weather have to do this? Tease us this way?? "hello, my name is Sprin--BWAHAHA MY NAME IS EVIL WINTER, SUCKAS!"
yea. Basically. Well, it certainly lifted the Monday mood!
This weekend was extraordinarily busy. Saturday I had to do some admissions work for the Scholarship Days that was held on campus. I showed a girl around (Elizabeth Fontaine, her brother graduated from here a couple years ago) to her various interviews and then to lunch. It turns out that her mom taught Robyn, my roommate, in 6th grade band!!! What a small world! After all of that I headed to Appleton to go shopping with a few girlfriends and see the Ripon Red Hawks at Lawrence University. Unfortunately we got lost in the land of shopping and didn't make it to the meet. But I heard everybody did well and Zach got some PRs!!
Sunday was also busy as I had a sorority activity all afternoon. It was really fun, but I didn't get homework started until 8!! And at that point you have little motivation to do anything. Oh well--it got done!!
Well, I should get some homework started now. I've got a busy week ahead of me!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I AM FREEZING.
Not only is this basement cold, but the outside is just FRIGID.
I want spring. SO BADLY. I just want to be able to go outside and not have my face fall off. I end up looking like Rudolph whenever I get back into a building--red nose.
Well Zac Mans and I are talking about going to see either Avenue Q or Spamalot in down town Milwaukee. We'd get a group together--it'd be ueber fuuunn!! The only problem is ticket prices. It's 25 or 46 for Avenue Q and 30 or 58 for Spamalot. It'd be really really really great!! ::hint hint cough cough present for julia for being awesome cough cough mum/dad cough::
hahahahaha.
Oh me.
Zach and I are trying to figure out a movie to watch on Friday. We're going to eat popcorn and sourpatch kids. SO if anybody has any ideas for a movie that is not an apocalyptic meltdown, zombie-esque, horror, or a general man-flick . . . that would be great. Thanks!
Hm. Well tomorrow is Friday!!!!

IT'S HUMP DAY!
As unorthodox as it sounds, it is. It is the middle of the week. It is the top of the mountain. It is the center of the ice cream cone . . . . . . . .IT'S ALL DOWN HILL FROM HERE, BABY!
Ahaha. Anyway. Today has been okay, I was feeling a bit under the weather, but it seemed that I perked up right after I ate something at lunch. Sometimes it's weird like that.
So, totally unrelated to Ripon or schooling of any sort, but HEATH LEDGER DIED!!!!!!! I am so sad! http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/23/movies/23ledger.html?_r=1&oref=slogin
Here's the article. :( Boo hoo! Very young and talented. And so handsome. It's really really too bad. It's going to be weird seeing 'The Dark Knight' this summer with him as the joker.
Well, since Monday not a whole lot has changed. I finished my first art project on Tuesday among much ink and cleaners, and continue the printmaking endeavours tomorrow. Eep! Well, off to the library!

Mmmmmmmmmonday!
I am so depressed.
The Packer game was so disappointing. SO sad and angry last night. Bad calls all over by the refs, bad choices by some of the Pack, terrible turns of events. . .and that out of the blue field goal by the NY Giants. ARGH that interception. Oh well--we had an amazing run and Brett Favre is still god.
Anyway, today marked the beginning of the first official week of school! 15 more! Haha but who's counting? Classes were alright.
God I'm FREEZING. The weather here decided it was going to forever cold and snowy. It's been snowing since about 8? in the morning. MAN. The temperatures shared at the Packer game were mind blowing, however. It was colder in Green Bay than in parts of Russia, Alaska, and Greenland! Phenomenal!
This weekend was very, very fun. Lots of girls--and ADPi. It's exciting! I'm excited--and Missy, my big sis, is amazing. I also managed to see Zach a lot, and get a decent amount of sleep. And nearly finish my homework. The game last night made it a little hard to concentrate on much else than eating Domino's pizza dejectedly (the delivery guy didn't make it any easier--"ey, you watch the game?") and Facebooking.
Well--I should get going on some other work here. Ciao ciao!

OH MY GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
Haha, sad--I haven't been here a week and I'm excited for the weekend!
Everything went very well for the first week--I love all of my classes. My philosophy professor is a riot. The syllabus is even fun to read. "Day one: introductions of various sorts." "Feb. 8: What ghost?" "Mar. 21: Oh, oh. We have a problem. "Meditation Four." What's also cool about the class is we get to argue our grade at the end of the semester! English is going to be fun, especially because I have professor Brown again. I love her. She's a great teacher. My German class has 6 people in it, and my printmaking class has 4.
I know printmaking is going to be a bit difficult. Very difficult. It's a 400 level class, which is kind of daunting. But if I stay on top of things, I should be fine. Speaking of, I have to go down there to work in about an hour and fifteen. . .ugh.
I'M GOING TO BE THE FYS MENTOR FOR PROFESSOR BROWN NEXT YEAR!!! I'm SO excited! I really enjoyed that FYS class--it was my favorite last semester. So I get to be involved in it again, as well as work in the CLC (Collaborative Learning Center). It's a second job, woot woot! She kept me after English today and talked to me about it.
Oh--so the commons was INSANE today. I get there rather late after my chat with Brown and--the line extended from the upstairs all the way through the Starbucks. It was ridiculous. You couldn't tell which line was "grab and go" and which line was to stay! I think the card swiper broke. . .not cool. Oh well. The "grab and go" line was much shorter, I figured out, once I got up the stairs and was able to see that there were, in fact, two lines. Ha. Oh my.
Well, I think I want to squeeze in a nap before I head to Rodman and then the Pref Party! Eep!

HEELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
HIYA!
OH MY GOD it's so nice to be back in Ripon! GAH! I'm so happy. Really truly am. I'm back on the campus I love and with my friends (and, yes, with Zach). ^_^
Today I had my first class--printmaking! It was a little intense! I'm one of four students, and it seems like it'll be a challenge. If I stay on top of things, however, I should be fine. I've been doing some sketches today already of an assignment we're starting on Thursday (it's due next Tuesday! Already! Eep!). But that was fun.
We all went to lunch and I had my usual wrap (spinach tortilla with turkey, lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese). YUM. And some milk. I've been crrraaaaaaaaving milk.
Afterwards we all bummed in Rob and my room for awhile until the boys had class, and we went up to Missy's room and hung out. It was sooooo fun ^_^. So many girls were in there, and it was just a lot of laughs. Woot!
What else? I bought a new backpack for today! I haven't had a back pack for about two and a half years. I had my bookbag I bought at the Puma store in Germany, but with the book load for Philosophy (7 books!) and German (another 7!) I thought I'd need something more heavy duty. It's a nice red that matches the school colors as well as my coffee machine. YES!
Tomorrow morning is Philosophy, English, and then German. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are going to be sooo similar to last semester. Exactly the same, actually, time-wise. So another 25 minute lunch period >_< . Boo. Oh well, I'll try to figure out a better one next year. Besides, I only have one class on Tuesday and two on Thursday. Mwahaha.
The holidays were decidedly cheery and wonderful. Great Christmas presents, great Birthday presents, and a wonderful New Year. I've already used my new coffee maker--I'm such a coffee lover. It's very snowy here in Ripon, and ohhh so cold. It's going to be 2 degrees on Saturday! AND WINDY. WITH A LOW OF NEGATIVE 4. NOT COOL, WISCONSIN, NOT COOL. IT WAS 63 DEGREES A WEEK AGO!!!!!
I can stay inside all day, right?
